Sintra town, or the Moon Hill, is a place full of magic and mystery, where Nature and Man have combined in such a perfect symbiosis that UNESCO has granted it World Heritage Site status. Celts worshipped their moon goddess here, the Moors built a castle and 18th-century Portuguese royals strolled around its dreamy gardens.

The charming Sintra village mesmerized Lord Byron and many other poets, writers and occultists.

During this half day tour, you can choose two monuments to visit in this fairytale town. Here, there is a wide number of palaces, mansions and gardens, with many different styles, from the romantic Pena National Palace, to Gothic-Manueline of Sintra National Palace, the neo-Gothic Palace of Monserrate or even the Biester Palace, film set for the Roman Polansky thriller The Ninth Gate. It’s up to you to choose from so many examples of fine integration of natural and built heritage!

You can also opt for visiting one of the monument parks on a carriage or on a horse. You’ll get the chance to walk in the exotic gardens, orchards and picnic areas and feel the magic which inspired so many people through the centuries!

Returning to Lisbon is scheduled for 1 PM.
