Cork and Wine: Friends for Life

On this fantastic adventure, you will visit the an important cork factory and wineries of Azaruja and Redondo and get to know the places from where the most well-known products of the Alentejo Montado, come from!

The beautiful ritual of cork extraction is performed by a team of workers who have been engaged in this activity for generations! Here, you will know the interlinked history, heritage, and traditions of this remarkable product and region. Like everything in Alentejo, cork forest and its industries work at the pace of agricultural cycles, so this route is available from May to July.

Lunch will be in one traditional Alentejo restaurant, which is the ideal place for the visitor to be presented to this region’s gastronomy, made with local products and by the wise Alentejo hands. By the afternoon you will visit two local wineries to taste whites, rosés, and reds, full of aromatic exuberance, round and smooth!
