Douro Valley, is one of the oldest and most beautiful European wine regions, becaming in 1756, the first wine region to be demarcated by law. Its vineyards were classified the following year, almost a century before of those in Bordeaux. In 2001, UNESCO recognized Douro Valley as World Heritage Site.
