For hundreds of years, Shiitake mushrooms have been a popular food source in Asia. They’re the second most popular and the third most widely cultivated edible mushroom in the world. Join us on this gastronomic tour through mushrooms and wine to learn how they are produced and pair it with distinctive Portuguese wines.

After a beautiful ride through the countryside, we will arrive at a Shiitake Mushrooms farm! You will be welcomed by the owner, taken on a guided tour where you will get to know everything about Shiitake and then a hands-on inoculation workshop and harvesting experience. In the end, you will have the chance to taste these delicious organic mushrooms!

After this out-of-the-box experience, lunch will take place at a regional restaurant, where you will taste the wonders of the Portuguese regional cuisine and realize that Portuguese gastronomy is as varied as this country’s landscape!

After this beautiful meal, you will go on a journey across the Portuguese wines: we will visit one beautiful winery in the Tejo region, its vineyard, cellar and at last, try the amazing wines. This estate is located in a region of unique natural beauty, extended on the south bank of the river Tagus and its history dates back to the 12^th century! It is dedicated to wine, olive oil and it has a beautiful stud farm so, you will have the chance to visit it and also do a horse cart visit to the countryside!

On your way back to Lisbon and to end up this lovely day, we will take you to one of the most amazing viewpoints in the Ribatejo region, located in the city of Santarém. From here, you can see the long plains of Ribatejo and the beautiful city of Almeirim!
